Hazel Grove Brewery
Brief
As a personal creative brief, I designed the branding and merchandise for a fictional micro brewery based in Hazel Grove.
Each beer is named and based on areas within and around Hazel Grove, using design elements that are significant for each e.g the Lyme Park deer reserve.
Solution
Starting a brand from scratch gave me unlimited freedoms and product design is something that interests me, so this was a fun project to get stuck into and experiment with.
Response
Logo Design
The logo is inspired by the 'Hazel Grove crest' which has been a symbol of the town for many years. By using the same shield shape, I have edited the logo to suit the brewery and with in mind, the design of the beer bottles and how the logo will be used.
Bottle design
The design of the beer bottles suit each type of beer. I wanted the design to be consistent across the brand. I have used colours which will contrast well against the other bottles. The design of the logo means it can be recognisable. With the design of the bottle, it looks best on the neck in white. This means all the bottles can be the same but the label can change depending on the beer.
Each label has the same design but uses an elegant font which sits under the drawing related to the beer. For example, Torkington Dark ale has a Squirrel drawing above the name of the beer.
